Bandstand in the Bandra suburb is Mumbai’s famous lovers point. It is a landmark of its own with a beautiful sea face location. It is approx a 2Km stretch of road which eventually leads to Bandra fort. The Bandra fort is an ideal place for lovers who wish to spend a nice quite afternoon talking to each other. The Bandra fort has been shot in many bollywood movies too.
A famous 5 star hotel which was the beauty of bandstand was Searock hotel which was bombed in the 1993 blasts, and is now not operational. Taj Lands End (earlier known as Regent hotel), a 5 star hotel now stands opposite the Searock hotel, just next to the Bandra fort.
The bandstand resident association has spent a lot of time and money to make the bandstand promenade which is used by the residents for jogging and walking. Couples love to sit by the sea side, some of them (who do not wish to be disturbed) even walk upto the rocks, and sit on the rocks when there is low tide.
The face of Bandstand changes in the evening when young college crowds sit on the promenade having bhel puri, sev puri and other items that are available at the many stalls at the promenade. Bandstand is not to be missed during monsoons.
Salman Khan has been staying on Bandstand ever since in Galaxy apartments.
Shah Rukh Khan’s mansion Mannat is also located on Bandstand.
